Hayley Treider

Hayley TreiderHayley is an emerging playwright and songwriter who has trained and worked professionally in the theatre for over a decade and been surrounded by music her entire life. She began work on DAWN at SPACE on Ryder Farm as a fellow of the The Leonore Annenberg Fellowship Fund for the Performing and Visual Arts. Hayley was nominated for this award by her alma mater, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she was also awarded a four-year scholarship from her mentor and friend, Tony Award-winning actress Cherry Jones. During her fellowship, the first workshop of DAWN was performed at the Emerging Artists Theatre’s New Works Series. Hayley’s NYC acting credits include Double Falsehood at Classic Stage Company, The Best of Everything at HERE Arts Center, Laura Eason’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer at the New Victory, and Bakken Formations at Ars Nova’s ANT FEST.  Regionally, Hayley has performed at Westport Country Playhouse, Two River Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, and Bard Summer Festival.  She has worked in new-play development with Rattlestick, The Public, Playwrights Realm, the Lark, NY Stage & Film, Civilians, the Vinyard, and MCC, and can be seen on film in “Orange Is the New Black,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “Person of Interest,” and “The Drama Dept.”  Musical performances include “A Night Benefiting Paul Newman’s Whole in the Wall Gang Camp at Avery Fisher Hall,” and Seth Rudetsky's “Spotlight” with Joel Gray & Veanne Cox.  Hayley is a proud member of AEA and SAG/AFTRA, and a volunteer of Artists Striving to End Poverty.
