MUSICAL THEATRE AUDITION INTENSIVE FOR KIDS (AGES 14 AND UNDER)... with Casting Professional Rachel Hoffman of Telsey + Company
Rachel Hoffman, CSA, has worked in casting since 1999, and is currently at Telsey + Company, where she was involved in the casting of Catch Me if You Can, Wicked, The Color Purple, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Company, In the Heights, Tarzan, Grey Gardens, Hairspray, Rent, Legally Blonde, The Fantasticks, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Sweeney Todd, Talk Radio, Nerds (at Philadelphia Theatre Company), and upcoming companies of South Pacific, Cry-Baby, Nine to Five, Rock of Ages, Memphis, as well as numerous readings and commercials. Some of the other shows she has worked on include The Boy from Oz, Brooklyn, Bat Boy: the Musical, Altar Boyz, Children of Eden (at The Ford's Theatre), The Full Monty (at North Shore Music Theatre) and Godspell (2000 Off-Broadway Revival at the York Theatre). She lectures and teaches audition workshops on musical theatre performing/auditioning at many colleges and universities around the US and produces senior showcases in NYC for graduating classes of some of the top musical theatre departments. Prior to casting, she worked as a performer in NYC, and received her BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Michigan.
WHEN

To maximize individual attention and coaching, registration is restricted to 12 students on a first-come, first-served basis.
PREPARE
Please prepare TWO musical theatre songs (one ballad and one up-tempo). Each participant will sing through each song separately, with an accompanist, and then work collaboratively with Rachel to explore the song. Be prepared to take adjustments and integrate them in to your performance.
This seminar takes place in a classroom-style setting and each actor will have the opportunity to observe and learn along with their classmates.

Tiffany Little Canfield is a casting director at one of New York's busiest casting offices, Telsey + Company. They are the team responsible for the casting of Sex in the City, Dan in Real Life (Starring Steve Carell and Juliette Binoche), Across the Universe (Directed by Julie Taymor), Hope Against Hope (JJ Abrams Pilot for HBO), Pieces of April (Starring Katie Holmes and Patricia Clarkson), as well as numerous Broadway plays and musicals and thousands of commercials.
